BON Farmhouse, Kewzing, Ravangla

Kewzing village is at an altitude of 1700 meters in the landcape with highest point the Maenam Hill which gradually declines down to Ranjit River and opposite to Tashiding. Kewzing’s location is blessed by Buddhist monasteries on all the four sides with Tashiding monastery in the south-west, Mangbru and Pemayengtshen Monastery in West, Ralong and Ravangla monastery in southeast, Doling Monastery in east and Bon Monastery towards the North.

The farmhouse has a total of 8 rooms divided in 3 categories, all of which are designed in traditional Sikkimese style which are all wooden furnished with all the modern amenities and attached bathrooms. The Log house suite is newly built complex with local Pine wood which adds to the true experience in living it out amongst nature at your doorsteps. The Villa Rooms are the newly built rooms facing the mountain range with personal balcony to mesmerize with the view right in the front. Family cottage has two rooms Mambru and Maenam with their verandas facing the Kanchenjunga Range.

The Farmhouse is actively involved in organic farming of the following crops, vegetables and fruits. Depending on one’s interest visitors can plan their visit to the farm to coincide with the cropping season. The Farmhouse is surrounded by lush green large cardamom fields (Bhara Elaichi) which is a rare variety spread across six acres of land. The forest is enriched with wild edibles like bamboo shoots and cane shoots of different varieties during the monsoons, wild edibles ferns during the month of July to August, wild mushrooms during the monsoon seasons and stinking nettles in the month of August and September.
