Chotta Mangwa (Chota Mangwa / Chhota Mangwa / Chotta Mungwa) is a peaceful hamlet with some outstanding views of the rambling Teesta river and majestic Kanchenjunga on a cloudless day. It is located on a ridge at the top of the Mangwa hill in Darjeeling district. Darjeeling Blossom Eco Tourism complex is also built on this ridge. It has 8 cottages and 2 log huts with all basic amenities and attached western style washrooms. All the rooms have excellent views.
The in-house restaurant serves freshly cooked food with farm fresh vegetables and also offers unending views of mountains.
Activity at Chotta Mangwa includes roaming around the village in the morning, visiting the orange orchards during winter. Nearby sightseeing places include Tinchuley Sunrise Point, Rangli Rangliot Tea Estate, Peshok Tea Estate, the confluence of Rangit and Teesta rivers. There is a short trek to the century-old Takling monastery.
The last few kilometres in the road to Chhota Mangwa is very rough and needs cars with higher ground clearance. In the monsoon, a four-wheel drive is necessary to climb that road.
