Buxa Tiger Reserve

Buxa, the wildest forest of West Bengal, is located inside the contiguous network of conserved wild spaces that stretch from Bhutan to Assam. It is also one of the larger ones with a composite land of different forest types including riverine, ever-green, hill and savannah. It is the habitat of the Royal Bengal Tiger, though very rarely sighted, but with dense population of other wildlife including the leopards, wild dogs, wild boars, elephants and varieties of birds and butterflies.
