Nameri Eco Camp is situated about 45 kilometres from Tezpur and about 1 kilometre from the banks of the Jia-Bhoroli river. It offers the shortest route into the Nameri National Park, Assam. The entire place is set amidst dense green surroundings. There are luxury tents for travelers’ accommodation. Food is served at a common dining hall. Restaurant is basic.
Situated in the District of Sonitpur, the Nameri is the third National Park of Assam. The Pakhui (Pakke) Sanctuary of Arunachal Pradesh adjoins the Park on its North-Eastern point. The area is criss-crossed by the river Jia- Bhoroli and its tributaries. The in-accessibility and continuity with neibouring forest areas has helped the wildlife of Nameri to flourish.
Activities at Nameri Eco Camp:
- River-rafting– The rafting usually starts 13 kms. upstream and takes about 3 hours to complete without halts.
- Hiking – You can trek in the park with the assistance of an armed forest department guide.
- Angling – The angling camp can organize angling trips in season.
