Singtom Resort located inside Singtom and Steinthal Tea Estates, the oldest tea estate in Darjeeling operated since 1852. The resort, started in 2012, is actually a tastefully refurbished tea bungalow dated back to 1862. Covering several acres of land, Singtom Resort is an elite property that offers homely cozy atmosphere created by the age-old fireplaces, the decor, the wooden flooring and the smell of the world’s best teas. Further, this tea resort is blessed with views of neighboring tea gardens and the majestic Kanchenjunga range.
Singtom Resort has 4 rooms. The most iconic Steinthal Suite is the largest of all the suites with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Singtom Suite, the oldest suite in Singtom Resort, is carefully decorated in accordance to Buddhist cultural Centralism. The other two rooms, Victoria’s Peak and Himalayan Suite, offer a cozy setting with age-old fireplaces, high ceilings, and Victorian architecture.
All the rooms have spacious and well turned out bathrooms with running hot water, a cozy atmosphere, and modern sanitary amenities. The accommodation will provide you with a seating area. Furthermore, the 150-year old wooden flooring and fireplaces add to the colonial ambiance of the rooms.
Singtom Resort has a multi-cuisine dining facility but only available in vegetarian platters. Indian, Chinese, and Continental foods are served hot and fresh. One may enjoy the breakfast and lunch in the lawns outside or in the middle of the tea bushes.
